Sunil, the hotel owner, and his family were always willing to help, and our room and bedding were spotless. Shops, places to eat, and tourist sights are all an easy walk away. Great spot in Thamel. We came once and never wanted to leave!

The rooftop terrace has a nice Kathmandu view, with a few mountains too, and breakfast was good. When we had to catch the 7am bus to Pokhara, they kindly packed breakfast for us. This is an affordable, comfortable base near Thamel's tourist area. The hotel kept most outside noise out, but inside we could hear people talking and walking along the hallway. We were on the top floor, so nobody passed our room, yet doors opening and closing and hallway conversations still woke us several times. Earplugs could help if you're a light sleeper. The beds were good, and the air conditioning also heated the room, which was welcome in December. We used the airport pickup and it was good, though fairly pricey at 10 euros, about 900 rupees.

The room was dirty. There were hairs in the bed, which I assumed were left by a previous guest, and it didn't look like the bed had been cleaned. I arrived around 3 AM and was writing this then. Other guests were making a lot of noise, and I couldn't sleep because I was worried about bed bugs. I planned to stay five nights, but think I'll check out tomorrow. Guests were checked in at 2 AM, making a lot of noise in the middle of the night. Someone kept calling reception all night, though nobody answered. The bedroom light and some outlets didn't work either, and toilet paper was left in the water, another sign the room hadn't been cleaned properly.

For the price, this is a brilliant hotel in a great location, and it had only been open for two months. My room was a bit dustier than I'd hoped. The staff were sweet, though, and took me to the airport. They even gave me a traditional khata for a safe journey.
