Around The World Backpackers

I really enjoyed hanging out in the backyard, and the kitchen never felt too crowded, so it seems like a good place for a longer stay. It's a smaller hostel with a kind owner, which gives it a nice atmosphere. The CBD is close enough to get to easily, but far enough away that it's quiet. Free parking is a big plus too.

There's a big kitchen with lots of good places to hang out, and the bathrooms were clean and well looked after. It's a social, pleasant hostel in a handy spot. Getting here from the airport takes just one bus, and another bus route to the beach stops basically right outside. Recommend!

Chay was thoughtful and patient when my plans kept changing. I stayed at around the world for a week during a transition, and he was flexible whenever I needed to extend. Before a busy long weekend, he came to tell me there was only one bed left for the next night, so I could extend and avoid being stuck with nowhere to go when all the hostels in town were booked. The hostel feels homely and is clean. The large kitchen table and roomy backyard seating make it easy to meet people. It's calm rather than a party hostel, but there are still chances to chat, play cards or go into town with new friends. There are cute chickens in the yard, too, and free parking in the city centre. The location is hard to beat, about a 10-minute walk to the main shops, bars and restaurants, with the market not much farther.

We loved having a private room in such a central, affordable place. The bed was nicely balanced, not too firm or too soft, and the shower had hot water with just the right pressure. The shared kitchen was lovely, and its huge selection of free spices meant we could cook without buying seasonings. We'd recommend it to anyone who's comfortable using clean shared bathrooms.
