We couldn't count on privacy or feel that our belongings were safe. On our last day, a man we didn't recognize unlocked our door with what seemed to be a master key. Staff at the lobby said he was a security guard, and when I explained what happened, the janitor just chuckled as if it were a joke. Why would a security guard have a master key and enter guests' rooms like that? The room's cleanliness was awful, and I won't get into the details. I'm glad it was our last day there. I wouldn't recommend staying here if privacy and safety matter to you, and I won't be back.

The staff were nice, and they moved us to another room without any trouble, but the rooms need serious attention. Our first one had dirty toilets and no hot water, and it wasn't cleaned to even a two-star standard. The price seemed fair for a place that was so dirty and buggy; bug spray took care of the bugs right away. There was an issue with Booking.com too, though I don't know whose fault that was. It feels like an owner problem, maybe because the business isn't locally owned and run, but that's just my guess. I suspect some people use the rooms for only a few hours at a time. With proper cleaning, repairs, and fair pricing, this place could do really well. The location is excellent. If I were the owner, I'd fix it up. I even wish I could buy it and do that myself.

There were dead insects and loads of holes in the walls. It felt like nobody cared about the guests.

The staff were kind and accommodating, and the hotel has potential, but I came away feeling that the owner may no longer care about fixing things. We checked in at 11 pm, and if we hadn't, we'd have gone to another hotel regardless of the payment. The parking post was misleading: we left the car by the road, then at 7:30 am they woke us to move it during checkout. Someone asked for 100 pesos for parking, though I hadn't seen him when we first parked or moved the vehicle. The hallway was infested with flying insects from floor to ceiling, and many got into both of our rooms. We didn't know the hotel's number, and being on the third floor, we couldn't ask for help. The kids were scared while we tried to kill all the insects inside. In the room, we could hear a water pump running. The toilet wouldn't flush unless we manually refilled it using the bidet, there were no towels, and we had opened the door to ask the lobby for one. The half-horsepower window air conditioner couldn't cool the room, so all the children were sweating until they fell asleep. Please read the Google reviews, because what they say is true. The inconvenience was awful, and I don't want to go through it again. The owner should address these problems and improve the hotel.

The rates are a little cheaper, and the lady security guard kindly helped with our extra luggage. There isn't a lift, like in other old hotels. The housekeeping was poor, though: cockroaches and spiderwebs all over, and rubbish left in the cabinets. On our second stay, which will probably be our last, we had to change rooms because the toilet door was locked and couldn't be opened from outside.
