Moderna

The calm atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff made this a pleasant base, and I could walk to bars, restaurants, markets, and sights. My room was comfortable, though the plastic covers on the mattress and pillow made me wonder about possible bedbug problems in the past. The Wi-Fi was unreliable. The bathroom was clean, minimalist, and compact, and there was a small balcony but no chair. The building is inside a small shopping center, which has a certain charm if you squint. People nearby chatted and played music at night; it felt lively without being disruptive. The price seemed fair, though a few small improvements would help.

After a run of disappointing, misleading AirBnBs, we landed at this little hotel and were glad we did. The staff were great, the rooms clean, the location good, and the price reasonable. It had air conditioning and everything we wanted for a short stay in Coimbra.

The street view doesn't give much away, but inside the lobby has a fun mid-century modern look. The staff were terrific, and our room was great, with air conditioning and a balcony. We'll come back next time we're in Coimbra.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely. Nothing to complain about.
