I couldn’t wait to leave. The place needs a proper cleaning, some care, and a fresh coat of paint. The sofa was stained and uncomfortable, the walls were marked, and the kitchen chairs weren’t comfortable either. The air conditioning smelled unpleasant and didn’t look clean. The only comfortable spot for reading was the bed. The bathroom had been renovated and looked nice, but after two showers there was no more hot water. Several appliances were connected with extension cords, and I didn’t see a smoke detector. The apartment is on the ground floor, though Lisbon’s hills mean you still have about ten steps to get to it. There’s paid street parking outside, so having a car wouldn’t be ideal. The metro is a few blocks away, with an Auchan nearby and other grocery stores, including an Aldi, a few blocks farther. The street is busy and noisy, and there’s a fire station close by. The washing machine and dishwasher both worked. The kitchen was basic, with no olive oil or vinegar.

The host was kind and offered useful advice. The apartment was spacious and practical, and its location made it easy to visit the city.

We spent five nights here and had a great time exploring Lisbon. The place was functional and very well located, so I’d highly recommend it for a stay in the city.
