The place is cool and sexy, and the thick velvet curtains blocked the sun well. The double windows also did a great job keeping street noise out. But the service was bad: nobody answered our WhatsApp messages, the room service menu link didn’t work, and our welcome letter said breakfast would be brought to our room, only for us to be told later that it wouldn’t.

I was there in September 2025, and it was the worst place to stay in Lisbon. The bar sounded even louder from my room than from inside the bar. Then, while I was already in bed, another couple came into my room because they’d been given the same room number and key cards as me. I left the lodge right away and am still waiting for a refund. Really bad place.

A fun, cheeky hotel that was comfortable and quiet. It’s also right in the center, so we could walk to all the places we wanted to see and to the train station.

We spent three days in Lisbon for our honeymoon, and this hotel turned out to be a spot-on choice. It used to be a brothel and still has its charm, so staying there feels like stepping back in time and imagining another side of life. For check-in, it’s easiest to go through the bar, Pensão Amor, where the receptionist meets you and lets you into the elevator. Following the hotel name on Google Maps may send you to the pink street entrance, with quite a few stairs to climb before you get to reception. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the decor had lots of character. Some rooms may get noise from the bar and parties downstairs, so the hotel provides earplugs. Ours was quiet and we slept well. In the evening, the bar downstairs has a lively atmosphere. Breakfast comes to your room in a basket, which is a fun idea, though there wasn’t much choice in the food. If you’re not an early riser, there are plenty of nice breakfast places nearby. I’d recommend this for open minded couples after a stay with personality that they’ll remember.
