I felt at ease here almost as soon as I arrived. The rooms are spacious, with lovely views, and the staff are warm and attentive without making things feel formal. Santa Clara 1728 is one of my favourite hotels. Nothing feels overdone, but the small details are clearly thought through. João, the owner, has a clear personal vision, and you can feel that the hotel exists because he truly wanted to create it. It’s quiet, calm, and very human. I’ll be back, and I’m looking forward to seeing their other properties.

Sara and Carlota from the Silent Living team checked in with us before and during our stay, making sure we were settled and sharing useful recommendations for the city. The small boutique hotel is in an 18th-century house where members of the owner’s family still live. It felt tasteful and calming, and the food was delicious, with a farm-to-table approach.

Santa Clara 1728 was such a peaceful, comfortable place to stay, and the space itself was breathtaking. Everyone on the staff was warm, courteous, and helpful. We loved visiting Lisbon and would definitely recommend the hotel. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality.

A stunning view from the room, beautiful design throughout, and really friendly staff. For me, this is simply the most wonderful hotel in Lisbon. We’ll return, and would like to visit the other places connected to Santa Clara 1728 too.

Lisbon’s historic neighbourhood is a beautiful setting for this place, which feels like a home as much as a design destination. Every detail seems carefully considered, and I felt myself relax as soon as I arrived. It was a treat for the senses, and one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. I can’t praise my experience at Santa Clara 1728 highly enough.
