Metropole Apartments Old Center

We came from another country for a holiday in Bucharest, and this was one of the worst accommodation experiences we've had. The building felt unsafe and alarming as soon as we arrived. Inside, there were stains on the bed and a strong foul smell. We later confirmed the mattress was soaked with urine. There were also spiders, spider nests throughout the apartment, and dead mosquitoes. We documented the conditions with photos, which showed a serious lack of cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance. We contacted management right away and said we couldn't sleep on a urine-contaminated mattress. They suggested changing the linens, even though the mattress itself was contaminated, and later suggested we sleep on the couch. That was unreasonable and unprofessional after we'd paid a substantial amount. We waited more than five hours after arrival without an effective solution. In the end, we had to leave and look for somewhere else, which took several more hours. We lost our entire first day, and all the plans for our arrival day were ruined. This was a failure of hygiene, guest safety, and management responsibility. Owners and managers should inspect and properly clean the accommodation after each guest. Guests shouldn't have to deal with the consequences of staff negligence or poor oversight. I'm sharing an accurate account of what happened. It caused us significant distress and ruined our holiday. Future guests should be extremely cautious.
