Karavan Inn

I was welcomed warmly by the receptionist, and the room was spacious and clean, with a TV and a big balcony. The bathroom was roomy and well furnished too. The place is well worth a stay. The only drawback was the Wi-Fi, which barely worked. That could be a problem if you don’t have a connection on your phone, but the hostel is great for the price ; )

I left the hostel fuming after waiting around for management to come escort the other guest out. They wouldn’t come to the property, even though it was only 7 PM. After a frustrating call and half an hour, I gathered my things and left. He’s still there, and they refused to refund me for the night. Their hostility has been astonishing. I gave them every chance to make this right, and they’ve taken a hostile stance at every turn. Earlier that day, the same guy had complimented my tattoo, taken a picture of it, and laughed with me. Then, without warning, he jumped out of bed and kicked me in the chest, sending me flying. People outside were startled by the noise, and I’ve got bruises from hitting the bedframe and wall. All this because I asked him to lower the A/C temperature. It was set to 30, which is too hot. Having to go back into the room to collect my things without any support may have been the worst part. You can’t run a hospitality business this way. You need to show up when it matters.

I’d already tried three hostels in Belgrade before this one, and this is easily the best in the city. The host was kind, polite, and respectful. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

The staff were so welcoming, nice, and sweet, and gave us helpful recommendations. They even helped us figure out the route back to the bus station when Google Maps wasn’t reliable during the protests. The location was convenient, and the rooms and bathrooms were spotless and really spacious. One of my best stays ever. I’d absolutely recommend this place!
