Ersta Konferens & Hotell

I forgot to reserve parking ahead of time because I assumed there’d be a space, so I ended up parking outside overnight and paid over 300 kr. Book a spot in advance. I only stayed one night, on Sunday, and the room was clean and exactly what I wanted. The location and view were very good, breakfast was nice, and there’s a place to heat food and get hot water.

We couldn’t travel because of a serious, unexpected personal issue, so we asked the hotel if we could get part of our money back or move the booking to a later date. They turned down both requests straight away. What made it worse was a remark that came across as borderline offensive, suggesting we should have picked a “better refundable option” next time. I understand that hotels have policies, but I’d expect some empathy when guests face real, unforeseen circumstances. We won’t stay here and wouldn’t recommend it. To me, good hospitality means showing some understanding when life doesn’t go to plan.

For a single room with breakfast, it was very good value. The breakfast was fine, though nothing special. There’s plenty happening in this lively part of Stockholm, with several restaurants close by. Parking is available a short walk away. A practical, convenient place to stay in the city.

The garden view over the sea is breathtaking, especially at sunset and in the evening, when the city lights sparkle all around. The hotel feels warm and welcoming, and its location in beautiful Södermalm is perfect, close to the Viking Line terminals.
