Hilton Stockholm Slussen

We only had two nights and wished we'd had longer. The room on the fifth floor was incredible, especially the balcony with its breathtaking panoramic view of the old town. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The sauna was a nice extra. The hotel is perfectly placed near all the city center activities. The front desk staff were awesome, especially both Maria, who were professional and friendly. A phenomenal stay.

There were some real positives: the hotel is well located by a metro station, the executive lounge staff were friendly and tried to help with my problems, and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. My room had a nice view, though it was directly above a road, so the lower floors were noisier. Another staff member offered me a higher room farther from the road after I said how noisy it was. The room itself was older, and the temperature was a constant problem. At first it was too cold; having two small duvets instead of one large one didn't help. After I reported it three times, it ended up too warm. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow too. Check-in left me feeling poorly treated. They presented my room as a beautiful room they'd provided, as if it were a free upgrade, even though I'd paid for it. They wouldn't offer a free upgrade, saying they'd leave a room empty if they couldn't sell it, but I checked over the next two days and it remained bookable the whole time. They also made the free water that came with my status sound like a nice gesture. They asked for my credit card, then said sorry because it was already in their system, and gave me room key cards in an envelope for a lower status. Mixed feelings about the stay.

An unexpected stopover after my flight was cancelled, and this was a great place to wait for the next one. The room service food was good, and the location works well for exploring older Stockholm and the royal palace. My one gripe was the executive lounge food selection, though there were plenty of drinks. One of the better Hiltons I've stayed at.

We chose this Hilton for our trip to Stockholm to visit DreamHack. The rooms were spacious, stylish, and spotless, and everyone we met from arrival onward was so friendly and welcoming. The pillows, unfortunately, were quite uncomfortable. Breakfast more than made up for that. The buffet had loads of options, including plenty for vegans. The omelet station's "egg sorcerer" was unforgettable. I'd never seen anything like it: made-to-order omelets with vegetables, ham, cheese, and spices. That guy's a wizard, pure magic. I loved it, and we'll be back next year!
