Bond Boutique Capsule Hotel At Bugis

The hostel itself was really clean and nice, but I had the worst night's sleep. My bunkmates were very noisy, the motion-sensor lights kept switching on, and some guy was watching or listening to something at 5:30am. Earplugs are essential. Breakfast was just cheap toast, and I was disappointed that the pool cost extra.

The bathroom was clean and the free breakfast was enough to leave me full. Nice hostel, though a bed for two can get a little hot.

I was glad to find this place when I did. I stayed around 10 nights, and it was worth the price even as a backpacker. You’re close to most of the sights, with Haji lane, Arab Street, and the mosque right nearby. There are so many different cultures around that you can see plenty just by walking a few steps. I didn’t want to stay in Chinatown, even though it’s a must-see in Singapore, and this was a great base. Grab an MRT card from 7-11, head to Bugis, and explore. I’d come back if I get the chance.

My first time in a capsule hostel, and it was more comfortable than I expected. I stayed in the women’s dorm, two doors from the reception, which also serves Nuve hotel, and behind the vending machine cafe. The dorm is spacious but has no windows. You leave your shoes outside and use the PIN they give you to get in. There’s a keyed locker for each bed, and they provide a towel for use in the dorm, a bottle of water, and a toothbrush with toothpaste. I’d bring sandals for inside. The thick bed curtains block out shadows, so it feels comfortable in your pod. The dorm has two shower rooms, two toilet rooms, and one room with both a shower and toilet. The AC runs 24 hours. Breakfast is basic, just cornflakes, bread, and cookies. There’s no water dispenser, but you can boil water to refill your bottle, or buy a 1.5 litre bottle at Fairprice or 7-11 and refill the bottle from the hostel. Bugis MRT is nearby, though you still have to walk. Masjid Sultan is very close, and restaurants are easy to find. I’d recommend it.
