Park View

I was happy with my non-window room. Despite what some other reviews say, it was just as comfortable as a room with a window, especially with the air conditioning and humidifier provided. It was fairly spacious too, particularly the bathroom. The hotel is compact, so the breakfast area and dining room are small. Don't expect a lavish spread, just a simple breakfast with a few choices, though it was decent for a 3-star hotel. Getting around was easy. The Park View Hotel sits by a street lined with Asian restaurants that leads to Bugis Junction and the nearby train station. The MRT and bus stops directly across the road make the major sights and even airport trips convenient. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and housekeeping cleaned the room and replaced requested essentials every day. I'd definitely stay here again on my next Singapore trip.

The beds were good, the room was very quiet, and there was plenty of hot water. I stayed eight nights and found it good value for Singapore. I booked through Agoda, so breakfast wasn't included, but the room had a min-fridge and electric kettle, which let me make breakfast there.

The rooms are very small, especially for two people, and the windows don't open, though that was okay. Breakfast is nice if you're not picky. The location is amazing: Bugis MRT is nearby and you can walk to the city centre. Service was poor, though. I asked a breakfast staff member something and he didn't understand. Instead of saying sorry or asking me to repeat it, he just said, “huh?”

The location is convenient, but it was the one thing we liked. The rooms felt very outdated and dirty, with noticeable dampness, and we also came across insects. Breakfast had very little choice and wasn't tasty. The staff weren't welcoming, and our interactions with them were negative. We ran into unforeseen circumstances beyond our control while arranging our trip and asked the hotel for help. They offered no support or flexibility. For the price, we think Singapore has much better places to stay, and that's what we chose for our next stay. We can't recommend this hotel.
