The location is great, and the bed was good. Our room was comfortable and quiet, with a good temperature. You can hear music late into the night, but I sleep with earplugs, so it was fine. We couldn't find proper safe storage, only a small safety box that you could pick up and walk out with. And, as in every hostel in Singapore, the toilet seat is going to be covered in piss 24/7. It's the same every time we go to Singapore. Must be a certain type of guest who stays in hostels here.

The staff are friendly, though the front desk only operates at certain times and can be empty on some days, probably because staff are on leave. If you run into a check-in problem, it can be hard to get help right away. There's also a live online agent, but late-night messages will probably get an AI reply. If the AI can't help, it asks you to call a number. Another guest and I tried calling and couldn't reach anyone. Longer desk hours or a more reliable contact number would help, especially for late-night arrivals. My room was quite dusty, which was the main downside. At about S$50 a night, it's an okay place, pretty much what you'd expect for the price. It's near pubs, clubs, and bars, so bass carries late into the night. The toilets weren't for me either: they're shared by men and women, and I wish they were more presentable. Ventilation is poor, so using the bathroom can feel a little suffocating 😅. If you want somewhere to unwind after a hectic life, this probably isn't the best fit. It's worth paying a little more for a restful stay. But if you just need a cheap bed and don't mind giving up some comfort, it'll do the job.

I liked the free coffee each morning, and I’d recommend staying here. The staff were polite and helpful, and the hostel itself was pretty good. Meeting people takes a bit of effort, though: the beds are closed off on both sides, so it’s not very social unless you head to the common area. The entrance can be hard to spot behind the shop sheds. Look for ‘Ilmiri Korean Fusion Cuisine’; the hostel door is right next to it.

The outside noise had stopped by around 10 pm for me, even though the hostel is in a nightlife area. Inside, though, people coming and going at different times could disturb you if you’re a light sleeper. Some guests also ignored quiet time and packed their bags after 10. Since the rooms are separated by walls and curtains, you can hear everything. I wish people had been more considerate of the other guests.

At Radzone, getting a decent night’s sleep seems impossible. Street music blasts through the night until sunrise, and even noise-cancelling earplugs don’t help. The AC doesn’t work, there’s nobody at the desk, and they don’t answer the contact number. Avoid this place unless loud music doesn’t bother you at all, or you’re completely deaf.
