It’s close to a Christmas market, and the room was okay. On our last day there was an accident and the water went off, though it seemed to be repaired fairly quickly after we checked out. What really spoiled the stay was some noisy guests banging on the entrance at 1 am. It was loud enough to rattle our door on the second floor, and it woke and scared us badly. The police came to deal with it. Since there’s no 24-hour reception, I think the hotel should have better late-night arrangements, like a hotline for guests.

The location was the best part, close to attractions, the Danube, and shops, and the price was reasonable for the area. I would stay again. Staff were friendly and spoke English, and the large bed was comfortable. My double room was a decent size, with a reasonable street view, huge beautiful windows, and a modern, bright feel. It smelled like clean linen. The towels were fresh, and the bathroom had shower gel, handwash, and small packs of earbuds. Breakfast was available, though I didn’t try it. There were a few niggles. My room, 2.1, was a little noisy because it was beside the wooden stairs on the first floor. The room was worn in places, with scuffed paint and marked flooring in the room and shower. The reception is in a separate part of the hotel, so you have to cross a small courtyard to get there. It’s also not open around the clock. And the keyring was so heavy it weighed down my small water bottle bag.

A cute, warm, clean, and cozy room right in the old town, very close to the bus station for Vienna. A great pick for a few nights.

The missing lift was the reason I took off a star. The room itself was cozy, with a large bathroom and basics like an electric kettle, tea and coffee, and a fridge. The hotel is very good and close to the Danube, with a tram stop maybe 300 metres away. I’d recommend it, though older guests or anyone with heavy luggage could ask for a ground-floor room, or at least one on the first floor.
