For a quick two-night layover, I chose Hanu Hostel because the rates were much lower than other hostels. I wasn't expecting much, so it was a nice surprise to find such a modern-looking place. It was very clean, the staff helped me make the most of my time in Bangkok, and breakfast was included. I'd check in here again if I return to Bangkok.

I really liked the soft mattresses and the complimentary breakfast. The place is close to Khao San Rd., and everyone was so friendly that it felt more like a hotel than a hostel. The staff and service were much better than I expected. Best hostel I've stayed at in Bangkok so far, and I'd happily come back.

The rooftop view is incredible, and there's a decent choice of drinks up there. The bunks have great shades, and the Wi-Fi and facilities are good. It is a bit pricey, and the nearby party spots can make nights noisy. Still, being so close to khao San feels pretty luxurious.

The lobby has a modern, raw industrial look, with lots of concrete, and the rooms follow the same style. I felt comfortable and welcome, helped by the staff, who seem like good friends. The atmosphere was very positive. I booked Hanu hostel because I was low on money near the end of my trip and didn't expect much. Instead, the interior, service, Wi-Fi, and food were all top standard.

The main downside is the noise. A nightclub across the street plays loud music until 3 a.m., and traffic on the little road starts early. If your bed is near the window, you'll need good earplugs. The windows have no double glazing or insulation, which makes it worse. Breakfast is very basic too: you can make toast at a small table by reception, with butter and a few jams, plus cereal, milk, and iced water. Coffee and tea aren't free, and coffee costs 30 BAHT (1.2 USD). On the plus side, the location is central, the rooms and toilets are clean, and the staff are friendly. The bedsheets are soft, there's a curtain around each bed, WiFi is fast, and the showers are nice.
