OYO 583 Sweethome Guest House

The room was run down and dated, though I can't say it was dirty. There was mildew and mold in the bathroom, the sink was about to fall apart, and the shower didn't work, so there was no hot water. The old TV had no batteries in its remote, though that didn't bother me much. The antique air conditioner worked, but was very noisy. Towels were threadbare and just about adequate. No daily room cleaning, and the bins weren't emptied either. I paid my money, and you get what you pay for. On arrival, a helpful, sociable man took my 1000 baht deposit and a photo of my passports. Later I couldn't find the man who'd booked me in. Another man was shouting at a Chinese couple over the non-smoking room, even though the woman said she didn't smoke. I wanted to complain, but suddenly his English seemed to fail him. When I left, I got my deposit back from the cleaning lady. The Chinese man was on the phone trying to charge another customer 300 baht because she wanted to wait for her niece to pick her up. It was nasty and ridiculous. I won't stay here again. I can't speak for anyone else, but if you do, it's at your own risk. I'd give no stars if I could.

The owner was rude, knocking on our door at night, yelling and making threats. We'd paid for the room, but he kept shouting that he hadn't been paid. Staying here could mean dealing with a very unpleasant situation.

The place is a budget hotel, but I wouldn't be happy staying here. It's old, worn out, and smells musty with some mold. The room was clean enough, but needs a full renovation. They demanded a daily room service fee, yet nobody cleaned my room during the four days I was there. There's no lift, and the stairs are steep with luggage. The location on Google maps is wrong, and it took me an hour on foot to find the hotel. I called several times but nobody answered. They also gave me the wrong wifi code, and it took half an hour to fix. The worst part came later. I thought the booking was fully paid, but they'd only taken a deposit. Two hours afterward, a furious man was banging on my door and shouting that I was a cheat who hadn't paid. I tried to explain I'd check, but he wouldn't let me speak. I checked and paid him cash straight away. Then I waited two hours for my change and receipt, and had to ask him for them. He was reluctant to return my change. Nasty man, and my worst hotel experience ever.

I just needed somewhere for the night before catching a flight, mainly because of the nearby airport link train. It turned into my worst accommodation booking experience, and I'm not even fussy. The street leading there felt really dodgy, the photos didn't match the actual rooms, and the customer service was terrible. I could go on.
