Grand Hotel

The staff are really kind, and breakfast is included. The rooms are clean and fine, especially for the very good price. Just don’t count on the Wi-Fi being strong, so have your own mobile data ready.

The hosts are very friendly, and the location is perfect. They also provide free breakfast and coffee. It’s basic and old-school, so keep your expectations in line with the low price. Fine if you want somewhere cheap and simple.

The check-in lady, who I think was the owner, was pleasant, and the bathroom was okay. I managed for one night, but the hotel felt grubby and run-down. The pillow in the photo was in a disgusting state, though luckily there was another one that was fine. Since many guests seem to stay just one night, I also suspect the sheets aren’t changed regularly. That’s why I gave it two stars.

The fan room stayed nice and cool for me without AC. It has a real, powerful ceiling fan above the bed, rather than one of those little wall-mounted fans you find in some other places in Southeast Asia. My room was clean, the location was great, and coffee and cookies were free. It was very cheap too. I’m not sure why some other reviews call it old; to me, it looks like a normal hotel.
