Darussaade Istanbul - Special Class Hotel

The rooms feel a little old and squeaky, and there isn’t much space to put cosmetics or use a hair straightener. Even so, we had a very good stay. Breakfast was fresh, lovely, and had plenty of variety, and everyone was friendly and accommodating. It’s on a quiet street, with a short walk to Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. A tram stop nearby takes you to the pier and Karaköy. The service was excellent, and the location is very good.

They upgraded our room to a larger one for free without us asking, and when we went on a one-night trip to capodoccia between stays, the hotel kindly kept our bags. The location was amazing, about a five-minute walk from the blue mosque, with lots to do nearby. At check-in, the very friendly staff sat down with us and helped plan what to see in the area. Great value, and I’d highly recommend it.

Breakfast was amazing, served on the terrace with a wonderful view of the Bospherous strait. The staff were courteous and helped me figure out where to go and how to get there. I felt like I was staying in a private home, with very comfortable beds and linens. I was travelling alone and wanted somewhere safe and close to major sights, especially the Hagia Sophia. The Darussaade has an old-world feel, creaky wood floors in the hallways that I loved, and nice antique touches. It’s also been updated and was very clean. I’d recommend it for the atmosphere, cleanliness, helpful staff, and location. The price was quite reasonable for Istanbul during tourist season.

The staff were lovely and happy to help with anything. It’s centrally located for the main historic sights. If I come back to Istanbul, I’d happily stay here again.
