Elan Hotel

Burraq and Yousaf were especially helpful. I contacted them a few times during my stay, and they always came through, even going out of their way once, which meant a lot. The hotel was clean, tidy, spacious, quiet, and peaceful, with kind staff and a perfect location. Excellent quality and great value for money, among the best affordable hotels around. Thanks for the excellent service, highly recommended!

We spent 5 days at Elan Hotel, and the bathroom and apartment were in terrible, unhygienic condition. The place felt neglected and unsafe, with old smells, worn furnishings, dust, and grime. I wouldn’t consider it acceptable even for a short Istanbul city break. The breakfast was tasteless, sparse, and barely deserves the name. There were only cheap cold cuts, basic cheese, bad coffee and tea, and hard, stale bread. We often left hungry. It was nowhere near a proper breakfast, definitely not “B” for breakfast. The shower didn’t work properly. Water dripped from the overhead fixture onto our heads instead of coming through the hose, and the cabin was filthy, as if it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. At 4 a.m. one night, water came flooding out around the bidet/toilet and woke us up. We thought there was a serious flood, but it turned out a machine elsewhere in the hotel was running and causing water to come through our toilet. Friends in the room next door found ants. After they complained, they were moved, but the new room was just as bad, with hidden mold behind a divider. Their hair dryer nearly caught fire in my friend’s hand. The pictures speak for themselves. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Ahmet at reception was especially kind and respectful, and made sure I got the best view in the hotel. My two days at Elan Hotel were smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable, with excellent service from the moment I arrived. I really appreciated the hospitality and would gladly return. Highly recommended!

The kitchen staff were very friendly, and breakfast was tasty and good enough for the price. The rooms are very small, though. The location is good, near istikbal street, the bus station, funicular station, and Galata Tower.
