Hotel Monaco

Mr. Ali, the head chef, deserves a special mention. The food was delicious, fantastic, and always brought with a smile, which made our holiday feel special. My friends and I had a wonderful three-night stay. The hotel was beautiful, the atmosphere lovely, and the staff kind. We’d like to thank you for the warm hospitality, and we’ll definitely come back 😊

The room condition was awful: peeling paint, a broken shower cabin, very old towels, and damaged or poorly maintained items everywhere. They didn’t even provide bottled water. During our 10-day trip to Turkey, we stayed at four hotels, and Monaco Hotel Istanbul was the worst by far. We booked a three-bedroom room based on photos that looked spacious and comfortable, but were given a cramped room that looked nothing like them. Staff moved us the next day only after we insisted strongly, and the replacement still didn’t match what was shown online. The whole stay was extremely unpleasant. I strongly advise future travelers to avoid it, as it can ruin a visit to Istanbul.

The reception staff were polite, and the location works well for transport. Beyond that, the breakfast photos are misleading. There’s little choice, and the food was bland. We ended up with watery omelets and a bun with butter. The walls are thin too, so light sleepers should look elsewhere. And if you’ve prepaid for a transfer, don’t expect a refund if you need to extend your stay or have a health problem. I really can’t recommend this place.

The location puts you in central Fatih, near Grand bazar. The hotel was very clean, the staff were kind and friendly, and they made an amazing breakfast. A very nice place to stay.
