The staff are nice and the location is good, which is why I gave it 3 stars. The rooms aren't very clean and aren't in great condition. From the photos I thought it looked like an amazing deal, but at 39€ per night I expected better. I've traveled to Istanbul often for work and holidays, and for the standards available in the city, I don't think this is the best value. It's fine for one night.

Room 602 is the one to try for, if you can get it. From the top floor, the views take in the Blue mosque, Sophie Hagen mosque, the sea and the Asian side in the distance, especially lovely at night. The hotel has plenty of potential, and the owner and Mehmet were helpful. It’s close to two tram stops, shops and restaurants, and apparently a refurbishment is coming, so fingers crossed. Housekeeping was inconsistent, though, and we had to ask reception for toilet paper a couple of times.

AYHAN was great, helping me with questions, restaurant suggestions and directions during my stay. The location is right by the tram and mosques, the view was lovely, and the price was so low that my local Turkish friends were surprised. All the staff gave great service. Rooms 601 and 602 are the best, and I posted some of my view photos on Instagram. Definitely recommend it.

There’s just one plug in the room, so charging both our phones at once was a problem. There are two more in the bathroom, though. On the plus side, Ayhan was in the lobby when we arrived around 11am and let us check in straight away, even though the proper check-in time is 2pm. They also looked after our luggage after checkout. For the price, it’s one of the best options in the city area, with easy access to most Sultanahmed landmarks.
