After we complained again, they canceled our stay on the spot. The manager seemed upset, spoke only to his employees rather than us, and offered no apology. The whole thing felt dishonest and unacceptable. If basic cleanliness and honesty matter to you, beware, you might not end up staying at Yakut. We'd booked Hotel Yakut expecting the property shown on Booking.com. When we arrived, they said our room had water damage and wasn't available, then took us to a different building called Immortelle Hotel on a side street. It was in awful shape, with moldy walls, dirt everywhere, and a neglected, unsafe feeling. We complained and got moved to a somewhat better room, but it still wasn't the one we'd paid for. It felt like a deliberate bait and switch, using Yakut's appealing photos to send guests to a run down partner hotel and save money. The room photos for Yakut also look different on booking.com and Google, which seemed highly suspicious.

The staff were kind and attentive, and made sure my family member and I were all right. They treated customers from all backgrounds warmly, which made for a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was good, and the room was clean with no bugs, including on the mattress. The location was close to the tourist sights, too. We had expected the package holiday room shown in the first photo, with the white ceiling and yellow decorative bedding. The other pictures were closer to what we actually got. We only learned on arrival that Yakut Oldcity hotel had the same management. Maybe the low price and three stars should've tipped me off. Lesson learned. The shower flooded, the renovation work wasn't very well done, and a few things were broken. The staff put in really long hours, so I hope the money from these misleading travel package deals doesn't all go to management.

The room was dirty and hadn't been cleaned, and the pillows were filthy. When we asked them to clean it or change the room or pillows, they refused and simply told us we were free to leave. The receptionist was rude. This is the worst hotel in Kucukayasofia and Laleli, and it isn't even a three star place. We don't recommend it to anyone.

I felt safe, comfortable, and really cared for throughout my five nights here. As a woman, that meant a lot. Everyone, from housekeeping to reception, was friendly and attentive, and seemed to go out of their way to help. The restaurant staff kept checking whether we needed anything, helped with our luggage, and served us with warm smiles. Atakan, who stands in front of the restaurant, was always welcoming and helpful. He'd offer me tea whenever I was there. The housekeeper kept our room spotless and made sure we had everything, even though she didn't speak English. I also want to thank the gentleman at reception, whose name I unfortunately don't know. He spoke patiently and kindly with my mother in Arabic and answered all her questions. That stood out and meant a lot to us. Thanks to the whole team for being so warm and polite. I'll definitely come back.

We're a travel agency and wouldn't recommend this Istanbul hotel. Avoid it. The rooms are dirty and aren't cleaned to the standard you'd expect from a three star hotel. They also seem to mislead people with old photos.
