Side Temple Hotel

The rooms are dated but comfortable, and there’s a decent range of food. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, and the mainly German and Dutch guests were very friendly. It’s close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, so thanks to the management and staff.

What made the stay for us was the Turkish hospitality from the staff. They were welcoming and very friendly, and the food was varied and really good. We spent 12 days here and had an amazing time. The rooms and bathrooms could use an update, but the atmosphere was warm and cosy. The beach takes a bit of a walk, though there’s a service to get there, and the route gives you plenty of archaeological sites to explore. There’s also an amazing Greek and Roman archaeological site just a few minutes away on foot.

The private beach is much nicer than the beaches near the hotel, though you need to take a shuttle to get there. The hotel is also within walking distance of the town centre and old city. We found the rooms clean, if not especially fancy. The staff were lovely and always ready to help make our stay better. There was plenty of good food to choose from, and we had a really good time. We’d definitely return.

We liked that there’s no animation, which might be a downside for some people but was a real plus for us. The hotel is on a quiet street while still being close to the beach, the city’s tourist centre, and beautiful ancient Side. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean, and the food very tasty. Manager Yusuf always responded to our requests. Nearly everyone on staff speaks German and English, and some speak Russian. There were few Russian-speaking guests; most were European. The furniture and appliances in the rooms are quite old, and the renovation is basic. That wasn’t a problem for us since we weren’t planning to spend our holiday in the room. The hotel’s own beach didn’t appeal to us because the sand was dirty and it wasn’t easy to get there. We preferred the nearby public beach, with its clear, warm water and beautiful sunset over the sea. Cyprus is sometimes visible from the beach too!
