Big Bear Hotel

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room stayed quiet with cold AC. We stayed two nights as a couple in a basic but roomy twin room that had what we needed. Free breakfast, snacks, and drinks in the lobby were a nice extra. There’s a 7eleven right next door, and the Formosa metro stop is close by. We also found plenty of good food nearby, along with night markets and shopping streets. I’d recommend it.

The location worked perfectly for us, just a few minutes on foot from Liuhe Night Market, a grocery store, convenience store, and the subway. When we left, the owner even helped carry our luggage down. He was attentive and accommodating from the start, taking time to explain the amenities when we arrived around 9 PM after an easy trip from the airport. Our room was cleaned and the towels changed each day, and the place felt generous for the price. Breakfast basics were free, including coffee, bread with jam, and tea eggs. We could bring back food from nearby restaurants and eat in the dining area without it feeling awkward. Drinking water was free too. Body gel and shampoo were in the room, while hygiene products, extra pillows, and blankets were available in the storage room if needed.

I felt at home here, and, more than anything, safe. The owner was usually around and ready to help. There’s no breakfast, but Family Mart is on the first floor, and the owner puts out traditional tea eggs for guests to help themselves to during the day. The place is very high-tech, and the owner seems to enjoy that. The instructions are clear: press here, press there, and you’re done. Guests can also use the washing machine for free, which was amazing. There’s a thermometer and some first-aid items at reception for emergencies. Our room was huge, with five double beds for just the two of us, and the owner said we could choose which bed to sleep in. I’m really grateful. This hotel deserves more.

I felt welcome and at home here, thanks to the owner, who speaks English and explained everything thoroughly. The place is central, clean, and comfortable. Fantastic stay, highly recommended!
