The room had a stale smell at first, though it went away once we turned on the air conditioning. I also spotted dust on the TV rack. Otherwise, the room was big enough, the toilet was nice, and the hot shower worked. The aircon, fridge, and kettle all worked fine, and breakfast was good. It's a fairly quiet area, within walking distance of Shilin MRT and Shilin Night Market.

The people here are so friendly, and there's plenty of free water, plus things like a microwave and printer. They greet you whenever you come through the door. They also offer free earplugs because the walls are a little thin, but I didn't need them since noise wasn't an issue for me. It felt like a thoughtful precaution. The building is a bit old and cramped, and some walls show it, especially since it used to be a dorm for the school behind the hotel. Still, they've done a great job with the place. It's in a nice suburban area and offers good service without trying to upsell or annoy you.

I had a great time staying here, and the staff were so hospitable. I'd recommend it to anyone. I'll be putting a video up soon on my YouTube, rumble, and odysee channels.

Most of the staff were friendly, especially Johnny, and the location is close to the MRT. They also offered fresh popcorn for free. Still, the place looked older than the online photos suggested, and the general impression and cleanliness didn't meet my expectations. Some fresh paint might improve the rooms. There's a school nearby, so it gets noisy during the day, and the Wi-Fi wasn't very stable unless I was near the door.

We stayed three nights, but with check-in at 3:30 pm and checkout at 11 am, we could only use the room and its facilities for 19 hours and 30 minutes a day. For the rate, that didn't feel like good value. When I got back close to 11 am after handling things outside, I asked to shower, clean up, pack, and use the room for one more hour. Reception said no unless I paid another NTD300 per hour. The lobby is tiny, with just two small stools at reception and a little children's play area, so you may end up standing while waiting for a taxi or other ride. When we were loading heavy suitcases into a van at the front, a man I believe was the manager drove up and arrogantly told the driver to move farther from the entrance. It didn't seem to matter to him that we'd have to carry the bags farther. Staff also refused to let us use the side glass door for loading, saying we might damage it, and locked it. On 20 April, I came back from a bike ride with a group of almost 30 cyclists. I was responsible for moving the bicycles down to the basement one by one. A receptionist told me off and demanded that I hurry up and stop blocking the already small lobby. I was alone and explained I needed time, but he kept pressing me to go faster. I also politely asked to use the small meeting room beside reception to pack some bikes into cases and clear out by evening. It was full of boxes and other stuff, but they refused because there was a meeting the next morning, so I had to do it in the basement instead. We'd requested an early breakfast at 7:00 for 30 people, but the hotel insisted it could only serve us at 7:30 because kitchen staff didn't arrive earlier. They split the group, with some eating at 7:30 and the rest at 8:30, even though we'd planned to leave at 7:30. They wouldn't accommodate the request. In general, staff, especially reception, lacked common sense and weren't helpful when we needed help, even after we pleaded. There are a few more things, but they're not worth mentioning. Their attitude came across as take it or leave it. Enough said, you decide.
