The rooms were like ovens, and the fan they gave us barely made any difference with the outside temperature at 30. No air conditioning in any room in 2026 is ridiculous. The staff must get a lot of complaints about it, and I do feel for them. Even the Guinness wasn't great. There was no lift in the building either, which is a pain with suitcases. It was a terrible start to our holiday. Luckily we were only there for one night. I wouldn't stay again. Awful hotel.

We had breakfast at the restaurant on Boxing Day, and the food was great. Helen and Chef Arthur were lovely and so friendly. Arthur went out of his way to help our toddler, even offering her things that weren't on the menu so she'd eat something. The hostess made her laugh several times too. Thanks to everyone! :)

There are plenty of free parking spaces, and getting here from the main roads is easy. The restaurant is run by Premier too. The menu is starting to feel repetitive for someone who visits often, but the food was okay and the service was excellent. The hotel doesn't have Plus rooms, though it has been refurbished with the 'evolution' style rooms. Mine was comfortable, and I was glad to have a bath as well as a shower. Premier Inns seem to have replaced the fixed showers with double head ones, which is a good change.

The room felt stuffy, with dust around, dirty curtains, and a sink that was partly blocked. The fan they brought barely worked. Staff were friendly enough, but seemed very unprepared and poorly trained. For a Premier Inn, I expected a lot better, and I wouldn't recommend it. Service at the bar was frustrating even though it wasn't busy. The manager was covering reception and the bar. I ordered a pink gin and lemonade listed on the menu, but she said they didn't stock it. I switched to lemonade, then waited 20 minutes before my husband checked and she admitted she'd forgotten. She struggled with the soda gun and poured the wrong drinks before getting it right. Dinner took 45 minutes despite the quiet restaurant. I ordered beer-battered cod, but the staff member said they couldn't make it because they didn't have the oven for it, and seemed unsure what the dish was. He said cod and chips was possible. The meal that arrived was actually beer battered, which was good, but his lack of knowledge and confidence didn't inspire much faith. Breakfast wasn't much better. The milk was curdled, and even though it was cooked to order, it took around 10-15 minutes to arrive when hardly anyone else was there.
