The receptionist was great, but I was confused about the parking charge. I thought the website said it was free and that I only needed to log in. The room felt worn: the mattress and pillows were hard, the duvet was heavy, and the bed was too high. There wasn't a comfortable chair for watching TV, the ground-floor windows wouldn't open, and the bath was narrow. The soap dispenser was on the shower wall right where you stand.

Elleigh made me feel so welcome. She went out of her way to make the stay even better and was exceptionally pleasant throughout. I travel a lot and stay at plenty of Premier Inns, but no receptionist has made me feel this welcome before. Premier Inn is usually my favourite place to stay, and I'll recommend this particular hotel to friends and colleagues. I hope Elleigh is there when they visit, she's a delight and so charming.

The staff were really kind, and breakfast at the pub next door was lovely, with a warm buffet of typical English food. Just before New Year, we had two very good, clean rooms, comfortable beds and a very quiet night. Everything about our stay was flawless.

Elleigh was a pleasure to deal with, always smiling when we passed and quick to answer our questions. She was friendly and welcoming from check-in through checkout, and gave us great recommendations for the area. It's refreshing to meet someone so helpful. The rooms were clean and the amenities were great too.

The van felt safe in the car park, which was great, and Mc Donald's is just across the road with sainsburys beyond it. Handy if you're up before breakfast or don't fancy the restaurant food. The police station opposite probably helps with the sense of security. The stay itself was okay, but no better than a travel lodge. Everything was just okay.
