Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport

The shuttle driver turned back for us after we realized I’d left my phone on the curb as we boarded. My partner told him only minutes later, and although he was the only shuttle on that loop, he quickly came back. We got the phone, and it made our trip so much easier. We’re still very grateful, because he could’ve just said no. The hotel lobby staff had that same customer-first energy, which really adds to a stay, whether it’s one night or several. My partner and I stayed at Holiday Inn not long after Christmas and enjoyed it. Our room was clean and comfortable, and surprisingly large for a budget hotel. The staff were lovely, and the shuttle was easy to use. Breakfast was included; it was minimal, but a convenient way to get a good feed before day trips or getting back on the plane. Thanks for having us, we loved our experience.

The hotel was relatively pleasant overall, and I’d stay again if the staff were better trained on the policies. I was there for three days, early in my travels, and had splendid service in the restaurant. The meals were amazing, the restaurant staff were friendly and lovely to talk to, and room 100 was exceptionally large, with a modern, nicely sized shower. I was very pleased with how clean it was. If you drive, paying for parking through reception is cheaper than using the car park QR code. My negative experiences were at check-in, where a tall receptionist was rude and impolite. I didn’t catch her name. Later, while I was eating in the restaurant, I overheard two hotel staff members loudly discussing private personal information about another guest’s room. It felt very inappropriate and made me uncomfortable. One was the same receptionist; I asked another staff member about the other woman and was told she was Michelle, a housekeeper. The hotel should remind staff about the privacy policy.

The only slight drawback was the price. At £150 a night it seemed a bit high, though the stay was still very agreeable. In the end, that comes down to personal taste; aside from the cost, it’s a solid hotel. It’s right on the grounds of Edinburgh airport, reachable with a modest walk or a regular shuttle for a small fee. Rooms are clean and well looked after. Breakfast had a decent range and was good quality. The complimentary tea, coffee, and milk were appreciated, even if they’re standard for the industry.

A really pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the service made it even better. They were accommodating about my early check-in, which helped a lot. David at reception was especially helpful, friendly, and professional. His positive attitude made everything easy and smooth. Great staff and service, and I’d happily return and recommend it.
