The host was welcoming, kind and attentive, and the room stayed perfectly warm and cosy even during the coldest days of the year. This guesthouse was one of the finest places I've ever chosen to stay. It has a warm, nostalgic atmosphere and a strong sense of history that made the visit memorable. Having breakfast and afternoon tea beside the fireplace in the intimate dining room was especially relaxing. The rooms were spotless, carefully designed and beautifully furnished, with lots of attention to detail. I felt comfortable straight away, almost as if I were at home, and the elegant bathroom was spotless and well maintained too. It's on a quiet street, yet close to the city centre and main attractions, about a 20-minute walk or five-minute bus ride. I can't find a fault and would happily stay again on a future visit. Highly recommended.

The host was so kind and welcoming, and made us feel like we were staying in the home of someone we'd known for years. The guesthouse is beautiful, very clean and cosy. Our room was spotless and nicely decorated, and breakfast was excellent. A really comfortable, enjoyable stay, highly recommended!

The room was cosy, clean and small, just right for travelling solo. I also loved the bath. The guest house was within walking distance of the old town and Holyrood park, which suited me perfectly. The host was so welcoming and accommodating that my trip became much more comfortable. I arrived in Edinburgh very early and was allowed to leave my bags from 7:30. After an overnight bus from London, I really wanted a shower and a bed, so I was delighted to find the room would be ready by 12 rather than the 3pm listed in the house rules. I also needed to leave early for my train, and the host arranged breakfast earlier than usual so I could eat before setting off. Highly recommend!

Martin was helpful and chatty, and the house was beautiful. The room was lovely and cosy, and despite being on a main road we heard nothing. The continental breakfast was just right. I'd recommend this to anyone after a small, centrally located place to stay in Edinburgh.

The location is wonderful, and the rooms are incredible, quiet despite the bustle of Edinburgh. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding, and Martin, Hillary's helper, was just as warm and hospitable as she was. We enjoyed our four-night stay at 6 Brunton place so much. It was definitely luxurious, and from the moment Hillary opened the door I felt surrounded by charm and warmth. I can't do the experience justice!
