Sefton Park Hotel
About this property
The Sefton Park Hotel offers comfortable accommodations in a relaxing setting overlooking a Victorian boating lake, making it an ideal base for exploring Liverpool. Housed in a converted Victorian villa, the hotel boasts a unique history as the former home of Stuart Sutcliffe, the fifth Beatle. Guest rooms are well-appointed and include shower rooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, and irons with ironing boards. Stuart's Bar & Grill serves freshly prepared food and a wide selection of beverages, with large-screen televisions showcasing major sporting events. On-site parking is available, with additional free spaces on the adjacent main road. Located in the desirable Aigburth area, the hotel is just 2. 5 miles from Liverpool City Centre and 4. 5 miles from Liverpool Airport, both easily reachable by car in approximately 10 minutes. Major motorway connections are also close by. A variety of shops, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance, including the vibrant Lark Lane with its numerous bars and eateries, just a 10-minute stroll from the hotel. Sutcliffe, the Beatles' original bassist, is credited with coining the band's name with John Lennon. After successful performances with the band in Liverpool and Hamburg, where he met his fiancée, photographer Astrid Kirchherr, Sutcliffe left the band in July 1961 to pursue his art studies. He tragically passed away in 1962 at the age of 21. Many of Kirchherr's early photographs of the Beatles, including signed copies and other memorabilia, are displayed in the hotel.

Now that I'm local, a big group of us had a lovely Christmas lunch here last Sunday. The staff were great, especially John and Joan, and very attentive, making sure everything was right. The kitchen's food was delicious and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. I also had a lovely stay here in 2020 in a family room, and it's dog friendly. The staff couldn't have been nicer.

I was here for my sister's wedding, and the venue and staff were great. The service was spot on, and breakfast the next morning didn't disappoint. Our room was a good size and had a lovely morning view of sefton park. The one letdown was waking up to what seemed like a ladybug infestation. They were all over the inside of the windows. They're fairly nice to look at, but my daughter was spooked when they started flying around the room.

Joan looked after us so well for my dad's 75th birthday party, and nothing was too much trouble for her or the staff. Sean helped with the technical side, and the bar staff were lovely too. We had afternoon tea and they handled my daughter's allergies without any problem, then used the function room for the party in the evening. Everyone said how gorgeous the venue was and how amazing the food was. The family joined us for breakfast the next morning, which was lovely, before we went for a walk around Sefton Park. We had a brilliant time, and I'd definitely recommend the hotel.

The buffet from the kitchen was incredible, and they catered for our dietary requirements. I'm vegan, and the deuce was outstanding. We stayed three nights for my Nana's 90th birthday last weekend and held a party at the hotel on Saturday. Antonia, John, and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make both the stay and the party special. We'll definitely be back!

After a musical afternoon at the Palm House and a beautiful walk around the park, my wife and I had Sunday lunch at the Sefton Hotel. The walk was absolutely fabulous, and the roast was delicious and plentiful. Service was attentive too. A very excellent meal, and we plan to eat there again soon.
