The setting is lovely and has a great atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and tried their best. But the service was slow, and the food was very disappointing. I ordered the nut roast and got a chestnut mushroom Wellington instead, which tasted even worse than I expected. The flavours missed the mark across the meal. With even average food, this could be a wonderful spot. It’s a shame the kitchen doesn’t live up to the attractive venue and pleasant service. I was there for our office Christmas lunch.

The bao buns were my favourite, really yummy. We went for lunch with work friends and had a nice selection of sharing platters. I’d definitely come back.

The bar served delicious Asian food, which was a welcome change since we had a week of standard pub food ahead of us. My husband and I stayed here for our first few nights in London. Our top-floor room was cozy, clean and quiet, though there’s no elevator. I was disappointed that both times I tried to order a cocktail from the menu, they didn’t have the ingredients. Still, it was a great stay in a great location, just a few minutes from Farringdon station.

Farringdon station is within walking distance, and there are plenty of nice places nearby for breakfast. The rooms are lovely, and the service is even better, especially with the option of in-room dining. It can get a bit noisy around early morning, though.
