COURTYARD OXFORD CITY CENTRE

The room was clean, modern and well maintained. There was renovation noise during the day, but the staff came over to apologise without being asked, which showed real care and attention. Service was excellent throughout, from breakfast to reception, with everyone friendly and professional. One afternoon, my child and I came back to rest in the lobby, where another guest was being quite loud. A staff member offered us a meeting room so we could sit comfortably, without us having to ask. That was impressive service. Thank you. It’s a short walk to Westgate Oxford, with lots of shops and food options nearby. I’d definitely stay again if I have the opportunity.

The location is fantastic, right in the centre of Oxford. But the twin room was quite small, and food choices were very limited. To get something to eat, I had to ask reception if anyone was on duty in the bar or dining room. They had to ring through to get someone to come and serve me. At breakfast this morning, a gentleman was caring in the dining room while people all around him were eating! I’m not sure I’d go back.

The rooms are large, huge by English standards, and the ones facing the interior courtyard are quiet. The air conditioning was excellent. The location is handy for the city centre and the nearby Westfield mall, and the breakfast buffet is a notch above average. A little bit of America in the Old Country. It’s a shock to have Brits smile, make eye contact and be cheerfully welcoming.

The only thing I’d pick on is the soundproofing. Sometimes I could hear people in nearby rooms opening and closing their doors. Still, I was very happy with the stay and would choose this place again on another trip to Oxford. The location is really convenient for walking to the main spots and train station, and the staff were very friendly. I had a great time here.
