The Lounge Hotel And Bar

The staff were polite and welcoming, and everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel is good value, with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom and shower, and free parking at the rear. It works well for visiting Penrith or nearby places: the station is a 10 minute walk away, and there are supermarkets, takeaways and shops along the main road. Our room was far too warm for both of us, even in November. We left the fan running and the window, which only opened slightly, open all night, but it was still too hot and disturbed our sleep. Breakfast was average in our view. There was lots of choice, including yogurt, cereal, juice and hot drinks. We had eggs on toast and a full English. The eggs came with only one slice of toast, which was a letdown, though it tasted nice. The full English was okay, nothing special, but included with the room and convenient. The breakfast room was modern and pleasant, with the news on for a bit of atmosphere. I'd recommend the hotel for its value, clean rooms and welcoming staff.

We didn't try the restaurant on this stay, as we were visiting nearby towns. Our room, number 25, was spacious, nicely decorated and spotless, with a huge comfortable bed. The large TV had all the services, so we could watch a drama series on Netflix. Breakfast was good, and Jesse provided excellent service. For £90 for one night for two, this was great value. The staff were friendly, and I was here on business. The location is handy, with lots of shops, bars, takeaways and restaurants nearby. Our twin room had everything we needed and was spotless. The only issue was the heat. In November, we had the window open and the fan on, but still couldn't seem to cool the room. Breakfast was buffet style, with fresh juice and a cooked option.

He's the real deal at cocktail making, and you'll leave extremely engraciated and not disappointed. Mine was a real treat, a trip to the cocktail heavens. Thanks as well to the waitress who brought my delicate drink from the bar to the table without spoiling its presentation. Lily gave me the most valuable information about the car park, so next time I'm in town I'll drive straight in. I also want to thank Joana from J&J Graham for recommending this place. There are two Joanas, and both made me a lovely Cumbrian tea that I had the pleasure of enjoying with a soft lemon drizzle cake.
