I arrived drained, frazzled and deflated after traffic delayed me, and left happy, smiling and recharged. My family had given me a two-day stay, and Gemma at reception was calming and friendly when I called. She moved dinner back an hour so I could arrive, change and catch my breath. There was a small furniture problem in my room, but she moved me to another without any fuss. Because of my disability, I had a ground-floor room near reception and dining, which was perfect. It was beautifully decorated, with a little table and chairs, and dinner can be ordered to the room. The spacious dining room was lovely, relaxing and comfortable. Cavin and Tyler looked after me wonderfully and put me at ease. I had lasagne both nights because it was so outstanding, followed by Stanton mess, their version of Eton mess, which was also a wow. Monica hosted breakfast, talked me through everything and was very friendly. The breakfast was gorgeous, with cereals, Danish pastries, croissants, cooked food, tea, coffee and several juices. It was buffet style, with fresh hot items brought out again and again, no cold, old sausages. The scrambled eggs were incredibly fluffy and full of flavour. In daylight I could see the lovely lake, swans and scenery. Cavin and two other lovely gentlemen made the second dinner just as calm and relaxing. Sorry I couldn't read their name tags without my glasses. There are brochures, maps and flyers for local places and things to do. I hope to come back soon. Thank you to everyone at Stanton house, from room care, bar and kitchen to waiting and reception. You were all kind and made the stay feel personal and outstanding. Honestly, 20/10.

We had dinner included; the cod was splendid and the other dishes were okay. The buffet breakfast was nothing special, but did the job. Our room was very small yet functional. The building still has plenty of character and sits among lots of natural beauty. A great base for a short break exploring the Cotswolds and Swindon.

The afternoon tea for our 60th birthday celebration with 60 guests went really well at this beautiful venue. Guests praised the place, and the staff on duty were efficient, approachable and chatty. In the planning and during our visits, the team were helpful and answered questions promptly and clearly. They let us personalize the event with decorations and use more accessible entrances for elderly guests. We were impressed by the attention to detail and by their willingness to adjust food servings for allergies, including needs we only mentioned shortly before the event. From start to finish, it was a very good experience. Many thanks to the team at Stanton House.

The rooms were a little small, but that wasn't a problem. The hotel is beautiful, the food was amazing, and the location made it easy to get around. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had our work Christmas do there recently and decided to stay the night. The views from the hotel were beautiful, and the location lovely. The food was excellent, and the staff were accommodating and happy to help with whatever we needed.
