Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

We travel a lot and have never stayed anywhere this bad. The only reason I’m giving two stars is that they let us switch rooms and were pleasant about it. The first room was repulsive: the bedding wasn’t clean, the air conditioning barely cooled it, and even our dogs wouldn’t lie on the couch. The next room had working AC and bedding that was clean-ish, I guess. It seemed to be their idea of remodeled, with carpet that looked fairly new and a newer, shoddy paint job on one wall. The bathroom was still a crackhead’s wonderland. We didn’t have our kids with us, and if we had, there’s no way we’d have stayed. There’s a pool, but it was empty. We paid $70 a night for a place that wasn’t worth $35. Avoid it if you can.

The customer service was horrible, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Before we even checked in, they charged my mom’s card, then charged her again for the second day. The property was in poor condition, smelled funny, and had an awful bathroom. I wouldn’t even get under the covers. Breakfast was basic, there was no pool, and the whole place creeped me out. Not worth the money or the time. This was probably one of my worst lodging experiences.

Jeff at the counter was the only pleasant part of our stay. The room smelled bad, and the shower was in the condition shown. The Manager said no one had stayed in that room for seven days and that work had been done in the system there. Mr. Dabner and I would say, don’t stay here. It’s not fit for a dog. They took only $15 off the bill, just enough to make sure we won’t visit any of these motels again. Our stay was beyond the pale!

The room was clean and tidy, and the owners and staff were so good that they made up for the motel’s rough, old condition. It’s great value and very close to campus. They’re clearly doing their best to maintain the place and seem to be rehabbing it over time.
