Comfort Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids North

We only booked because an event was on in town and everywhere else was full. The Comfort Inn felt pricey for what you get, and I probably wouldn’t return unless I had no other option. The front desk clerk was doing their best on a busy night. The exterior and hallways looked like they’d been updated in the past couple of years, but the pool area seemed run down. Our room wasn’t very clean. The bathtub floor was dirty, soap dispensers were missing, and one chair had pet fur on it. The TV was unplugged; when I moved the cabinet to reach the outlet, there was a Tootsie Roll, dirt, and more pet fur behind it. At least the beds seemed clean, and we didn’t see any bugs.

My daughters and I stayed three days so we could be together for Christmas while my baby was in the NICU. The floor was stained black when we arrived, and we cleaned the room ourselves, putting all the garbage together in a bag to make housekeeping easier. Two days after checkout, the hotel charged us $150 in cleaning fees. The manager laughed and said he wouldn’t refund it because they had to take out the garbage bag. We were there for three days, of course there was going to be garbage.

The staff were friendly and truly happy to help whenever we needed something. Our room was clean, breakfast was awesome, and we absolutely loved the place. We’ll definitely stay again. 10/10.

I’d stay again, but the ground-floor room 100 needs a deep clean and an update. Its window doesn’t lock to keep burglars out. A wooden rod behind the slider would fix that. Truck parking is on the street.
