Super 8 by Wyndham Cedar Rapids

For the price, it was decent and better than the Motel 6 across the street. Remodeling is underway. My main issues were the lack of a closet and dresser, and no USB or C plugs for electronics.

The room door had clearly been forced open before, with the hook for the locking bar ripped off and never replaced. After I set my backpack on the bed, a heated argument started outside the window. The room felt dated, and the shower could use some work. This place is rough, as is the surrounding area, but it isn't terrible. You get the bare minimum for the price, so don't expect a four or five star hotel. If being cheap is the only goal, I'd spend $10 more and go somewhere else. Three stars would be generous, and it certainly doesn't deserve five.

I checked the sheets carefully and didn't see anything, but I still got bitten by bedbugs. Don't stay here. Saving a couple of bucks isn't worth it, spend a little more for a better hotel.

When we called to book rooms, the staff member who answered swore at us just for asking questions. He acted like our call was an inconvenience. I've never been treated with such disrespect while trying to do business. I wouldn't stay here even if it were the only hotel on earth.
