Comfort Inn & Suites Hamilton Place

We checked in on January 10, 2026, using my ID and my fiancée’s credit card. She was there, and check-in went smoothly. We then extended our stay and added another night. The next day, the front desk said we needed a $100 deposit because my ID was from in-state and the card didn’t match it, even though the cardholder was present. No one mentioned this policy at check-in or when we extended, and it changed whether we could stay. When we tried to sort it out and get a refund, a supervisor repeatedly said the hotel had cancelled the reservation. We needed written confirmation for the third-party booking site, but staff kept interrupting us and hanging up. We returned in person the next day and were told the reservation had never been cancelled. We were misled and are now dealing with a financial loss because of the hotel’s mistake. Being treated rudely, given wrong information by a supervisor, and hung up on several times caused unnecessary stress and cost us money. I’d strongly caution people to get everything in writing and be aware that policies may change without notice. I’m extremely disappointed with Comfort Inn & Suites on Shallowford Village Rd in Chattanooga, TN. If I could give it no stars, I would. ⭐ 1-Star.

Parking is great, and the front desk people are fantastic, super nice. Things are always good here 👍. The woman serving breakfast could leave a little more food out and should definitely keep more drinks available.

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. I’ve been here a week and haven’t seen a single person working on the remodeling they claim is underway. The place is horribly run down. My TV doesn’t work, but after I called the front desk, Ashley said they wouldn’t move me because of a nonworking television. The cleaning ladies are excellent, though. Ashley has zero customer service. There are several other hotels on this strip, so bypass this one.

The room smelled musty on the second floor, probably because the motel had flooded earlier. The lobby was covered with plastic and tape, but nobody mentioned the flooding when I booked. At check-in I waited more than 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk. They were helping another guest whose room was so bad he refused it and had to be moved. I booked on the Choice Hotels website, where the quoted price was $3 less than what I was charged. The extra amount isn’t the issue, it’s the inaccurate price and lack of explanation. I won’t consider Choice Hotels again. Very disappointing.
