Motel 6 Chattanooga, TN - Airport

PSA: Don't stay here. I couldn't find the motel easily because there was no sign visible from the road. It's tucked behind several buildings off the main road. When I pulled in at 9 p.m. on Friday, a large group of men were standing around a truck across from the office, drinking and playing loud music. I also saw signs of drug dealing and several guys hanging around the lot who looked strung out. The location felt dangerous. I told the office I wasn't staying because the atmosphere felt unsafe and asked them not to charge me.

The customer service was decent, and the rooms weren’t awful. But the tub looked like it had only been wiped with a dry cloth, if that. There were dirty toe marks where someone had stepped in on tiptoe. The bottom sheet had footprints too, though the top sheet and pillowcases had been changed. The woman who cleans the rooms was cold and rude every time.

As soon as I felt it was safe to leave, I got out. Just minutes after I reached my room, someone tried to break in. The room also smelled of cigarettes, the tub was broken, the blankets were dirty, and there was water on the floor. I’ve never felt more unsafe.

The employees were nice, but I can’t think of anything else good about this place. The photos are fake, and the motel felt unsafe. There were suspicious people outside, and at night I worried someone would break into my car. I’d rather sleep in my car than ever stay here again. My family and I only stayed because we were so tired. The smell was horrible, especially in the hallways, and the place was dirty and reeked of cigarettes. I couldn’t even describe that hallway smell. I didn’t open the fridge because it smelled so bad. There was a broken-down looking door in the hallway, as if someone had been killed there, and another suspicious door inside my room that I didn’t open. I’m pretty sure the employees haven’t cleaned in two decades. I went straight to bed, so I didn’t see any roaches, but I felt things crawling on my arm while I was trying to sleep. I couldn’t sleep because the smell was so awful. I’m 100% sure there are roaches. I’d say this place should be closed. I’d rather sleep in a zoo with animal poop beside me than come back. If you think you’re Superman and decide to stay anyway, bring a mask and a knife 🤣. I’d expect to be paid for sleeping there.
