All Suites Inn Budget Host

We stayed the night before the PSU football game and found check-in easy, the evening quiet despite plenty of dogs, and parking convenient. Our room was on the second floor, with only a handful of stairs from the multi-level parking lot. It was spacious and clean, with a firm, comfortable bed, a clean shower with good pressure, toiletries, a working TV, and an adequate kitchen. The stove worked and utensils were available. The fridge kept our soda cool. We left the bedroom door open so the living room air conditioning could circulate, and had no issues, though we didn’t use the bedroom heat or AC. I’m particular about cleanliness and was very pleased. The only concern was that the bedroom window was unlocked, so I locked it before bed even though we were on the second floor. The other windows were locked. It’s affordable, not a Hilton, and a good stop for the price. Don’t be put off by old reviews. We hope to return before future PSU games.

The room was awful: cobwebs in the corners, what looked like cigarette ash on the sheets, and no towels, toiletries, blankets, or coffee maker. The bedroom door wouldn’t close properly, and the AC made a terrible noise on low fan. We contacted the front desk about all of it, but there were no apologies and the standard items weren’t brought promptly. At check-in, they didn’t have the room I booked through Priceline, a queen for double occupancy. They tried to move us to a room unlike the one we reserved, which had a separate bedroom, kitchenette, and living room. When we pushed for that layout, they only had a king available and wanted to charge more. I said we’d booked just hours earlier and they should honor the price. They eventually did. Very disappointing. They need to update the rooms and make sure they’re clean and stocked before renting them out.

After 20 minutes of my one-year-old son crawling on the floor, his socks were black. The floors in the first room were lifting, the door frames had rust, and everything felt gritty. We raised it at the desk and were moved politely to another room, but it was only marginally better. The floor was still so filthy that my fiance scrubbed it by hand. The sheets were stained, dirty, and smelled like a homeless encampment. The dish soap left for guests was watered down, smelled horrible, and didn’t clean anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were bed bugs or other pests. I can only imagine what the other rooms are like. This is a nasty motel, if you can even call it that, and I’d rather spend the night in the local jail, where at least the sheets and surroundings are clean. Don’t waste your money.

The room needs a complete redo. The tub was filthy, the shower curtain had mold, and there were rust stains. I had to clean the tub and shower by standing on a towel on the tub floor because I couldn’t tell what the powder in the tub was. The door and window locks were broken, much of the wall was unpainted, and the sofa’s slipcover had holes.
