Home2 Suites by Hilton College Station

We arrived on one of their busiest weekends, during a playoff game, and they still went out of their way to help my family when I realized I'd booked the wrong date. Everyone was kind and accommodating, and I was so grateful I chose to stay there. They greeted us when we came in and said goodbye as we left. Even after seeing you several times, they still spoke to you warmly, with smiles and no attitude. That's what good customer service feels like. Thank you for the hospitality. We'd definitely stay again if we visit.

I travel for work and usually like Home 2, but this one had problem after problem. The AC in our first room was loud, and the one in the replacement room was even louder. They said many rooms were like that and couldn't offer another because they were full, so we went back to the first room, though sleeping was still hard. My wife found that the phone didn't work when she tried calling downstairs, and the mirror was missing, with only its wall mounts left. The filtered water machine at the gym was out of order too, as were two workout machines. I kept noticing things without even looking for them. Do managers walk the building and make note of this stuff? We won't return. Hilton should do better for its brand.

The room was clean and tidy, and Jonathan at the front desk was fantastic. My sister and I were visiting town and the University, and he gave us directions and recommendations that fit what we wanted, plus ideas for activities in another nearby town. The building seems a little older, and the walls let through more sound than I'd like, but it was clean and well kept. I'd be glad to stay again when I'm back.

We stay at Hiltons often, and Home2Suites is usually our first choice, which made this the worst experience. The bathroom had stained wallpaper and grime around the tub, and there was no conditioner or body wash. I was told they don't stock conditioner and had run out of body wash, so they gave us bars of face soap. I also usually ask for late checkout, but this time was told I'd have to pay another $40 if we stayed past 12. I've never heard that before. This stay has made me stop assuming every Home2Suites will be nice.
