The hotel sent a maintenance worker to spray chemicals into the vent where ants were coming from while my mother and aunt were still in the room. They were then dealing with chemical fumes circulating through the ventilation as well as the ants. When I asked to speak to a manager, Sai said no manager would be available until Monday and gave the manager's name as Ericka. My mother and aunt are senior citizens who traveled from Georgia and Maryland to Columbus, Ohio, for their uncle's 90th birthday. They chose Comfort Suites Columbus East Broad (70 Chris Perry Ln., Columbus, OH 43213) expecting a comfortable stay. Instead, they saw ants coming out of the ventilation system and water stains on the ceiling, and went straight to the front desk to ask for another room. Sai at the desk said the hotel was sold out. I called afterward to ask what options there might be, and Sai again said there were no rooms. He said the only way they could get any compensation was to check out entirely. They weren't asking for a full refund, just some reasonable acknowledgment of the problem. The call was unprofessional too: Sai raised his voice and repeatedly talked over me instead of having a respectful discussion. The expectation seemed to be that two older women, late at night in an unfamiliar city, should pack up and find somewhere else to sleep if they wanted any consideration. This showed a serious lack of hospitality and basic care. Policies matter, but businesses also need common sense and compassion for elderly guests who have traveled a long way for a family milestone. Instead of trying to resolve it reasonably, the hotel quoted policy and left them to deal with the situation. If cleanliness, comfort, and respectful service matter to you, I'd recommend another hotel in Columbus. People should matter more than policies.

The location worked really well, with everything we needed nearby or within walking distance. We had a spacious, very clean room, and the attentive staff were great. The pool and workout room were nice too. This hotel went beyond what we expected.

For the price, this was a really nice place. We had two queen beds, a small couch and TV area, and a modern, clean, spacious room. The bathroom was nice too. It was quiet and felt like a safe area, and breakfast had a decent mix of hot and cold choices. We came for a concert and could drive straight into downtown Columbus easily, without getting on the freeway. I'd recommend it for comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price.

It was pretty good, but there were bugs just about everywhere. I even saw ants in the shower while I was taking one. It was crazy.
