Ahmed, the night manager, is great, and Rukhsana on the day shift was so patient with me when I checked in. I'd booked online at the wrong location by mistake, and she sorted it out and put my mind at ease. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My room was gorgeous, with plenty of charging spots. The TV picture was unreliable, but the bathroom was great and had a roomy shower. They had razors and toothbrushes available when needed. Breakfast is included each day, with a lot more than the usual: omelets, hash browns, yogurt, cereal, chocolate milk, and fresh fruit. The king room had everything I needed. If you need a place to stay, Groveport Holiday Inn Express is a good choice.

The pool was closed for renovation, and no one told us before check-in, even though it was one reason we booked. I don't recommend staying here. I arrived early after traveling and asked Andrew at the front desk about checking in early. He said yes, for a $30 charge, and told me to come back in 30 minutes. I gave him a $10 tip, thanked him, went to get food, then returned ready to check in. He then said I couldn't check in until 11 and would still have to pay $30. I'm a platinum elite member and have been for over 10 years, and this has never happened before. I was confused about why he first said I could check in, then changed it. It felt racial after he saw my name.

The rooms were so clean, and my sister and I kept talking about how comfortable the mattresses were. Everyone on staff was kind, and Ahmed was especially wonderful to work with. I'll definitely be back!

I've only written one other review, and I usually just write bad ones. Save yourself the hassle and go to the motel 6. The place is under construction and looks shameful. I finished work at 8 a.m. and asked for a one hour late checkout. The front desk woman wouldn't accommodate me. I know it's not required, but I stay in hotels around the country and it's never been a problem. She said I booked through a third party and wouldn't help. For a holiday inn express, this was very disappointing.

The night shift manager was the only person we dealt with who was competent. He was polite and accommodating. After that, the experience went downhill. We won't stay here again. Day manager Rakhsanna was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When we asked to be checked out, she refused, creating a mess that should never happen at a hotel. Now we're stuck dealing with overcharged deposits and billing problems because of her negligence. We shouldn't have to chase down a checkout or fight incorrect charges after our stay. The lack of accountability and customer service was unacceptable. I don't recommend this place.
