Holiday Inn Express Denver Central North by IHG

Thanks to Ryan, the manager, I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in Denver. This is my second visit, and the clean, comfortable rooms and beds plus the A+ service have been great. I spend about 30% of my work life on planes and in hotels, and over 28 years I've stayed in hotels across more than 20 countries. Ryan is a top-flight manager. Five stars, well earned.

After a red-eye, I badly needed sleep, and the woman at reception, Angela I think, let us check in really early. The bed was comfy, breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, and there are plenty of amenities and snacks to buy. It was affordable too. Honestly one of my best hotel stays, and we'll definitely come back.

The room itself was decent, and breakfast was the usual H.I. kind. But the layout felt unusual and industrial, and the traffic noise from the freeway was constant, even though I was told I had one of the quieter rooms. The lighting was awkward too: no light switch right by the entrance, and the switch wasn't where I expected. At night, several little lights kept the room bright, so I covered them with black tape on the second night.

We came from New Mexico for a concert and picked this hotel because it was closest to the saloon we were going to. We stayed two nights, and the place was beautifully updated. The rooms, lobby, and hallways were extremely clean, and breakfast was amazing both mornings. Ryan made check-in easy and welcoming, and the other staff greeted us each time we came or went. Best hotel I've stayed in so far. I'd highly recommend it. I'd post pictures if I could figure out how.
