Sleep Inn & Suites Airport

The attached restaurant should offer more chicken sauce options, especially for pickup orders. One dipping sauce for ten wings isn't enough. At check-in, the concierge should note in the guest chart when someone needs daily room cleaning. I missed service for one of my days, and after my room was cleaned, the door was left open. That left my work and personal laptops vulnerable to someone coming in and taking them.

The place is reliably clean, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are friendly and down to earth, and you can tell they take pride in their work. These rooms are much bigger than at other Sleep Inn locations I've visited. I've used the airport shuttle on earlier stays, though not this time. You can also pay to leave your car here while on vacation, which saves a lot compared with airport parking. It's a little out of the way for where we usually go in Syracuse, but the consistent quality and value keep bringing us back. I hope my next visit isn't on a Sunday so I can try the restaurant and bar on site.

I booked one night at the last minute because I needed a ride from the airport that evening and back the next morning. The staff tracked my flight to make sure I arrived safely and were ready to accommodate a delay. They even offered to return to the airport if I missed the scheduled pickup. The next morning my flight was canceled, and I was supposed to travel standby. I'd only packed for a quick turnaround trip after dropping my daughter off with her dad, so I had nothing with me. I was alone, visually impaired, and legally blind. I explained that if I couldn't get on the standby flight, I wouldn't have anything or any way to get anywhere. The owner, I assume, since he called it “my hotel,” was driving me to the airport and told me to call him or the hotel if I didn't get on the flight so we could work something out. He said he lived only five minutes away if needed. The owner and staff went above and beyond to help me feel safe and make sure I had what I needed. I'll definitely stay again. We're in NY from CA at least twice a year, and I recommend the place.

The hotel and room seemed well maintained, and breakfast was very good. There was mold in the shower, though. I booked online, but the website's phone number was wrong, so I couldn't tell them I'd be arriving at midnight or arrange the shuttle. When I landed, I learned there wasn't staff for the shuttle and had to pay $25 for a taxi. The next day my ride was coming from out of town and couldn't get there until 1 pm. I asked for a late checkout, but they would only let me stay until noon.
