La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fremont / Silicon Valley

I stay here often and have always enjoyed it, usually on the upper floors. This was my first time on the first floor, in Room 128. At first the room looked dirty, but after wiping things down I realized it needs fresh paint, new furniture, bathtub refinishing, and carpet cleaning.

For $80 a night total on a Friday and Saturday, this was very good value, and I’d definitely return. I stayed two nights in August and would rate it 7.4/10 overall. Parking was good and cost $3 per night. The breakfast room was a good size, though the selection was probably thinner than I’d expect at a La Quinta. For context, cereal or toast is enough to satisfy me. The room was spacious, with a good bed and pillows. The bathroom was large, the shower was very good, and the towels were good too. The AC worked well and the staff were good.

My mother and I were here for a funeral, and the customer service was top notch. The condition and upkeep, though, were not. We were on the third floor at the far end. When we stepped off the elevator, dirty sheets, blankets, and trash were sitting outside four different rooms. We thought maybe housekeeping was running late, but the mess was still there when we got back from dinner. Our room smelled of mildew, and the carpet was damp. My mom also found roaches in the bathroom. This was our first stay and will be our last. Rooms shouldn’t cost so much when the cleaning isn’t top notch. (10/14-10/15/2025)

The online photos are seriously misleading. They make the place look like a five-star dream, but my room was dusty and dirty, with stained carpet that looked nothing like the pictures. The sheets felt old and odd, and the bathroom was falling apart. Its rusty faucets barely worked. Don’t book based on those photos, they gave me a completely different impression.
