Jade Inn Motel

Our room was a good value for what we paid. We stayed four nights and had a comfortable bed, a table, and a comfortable chair. We were on the ground floor, so we could park right in front of the room, which was great with all the stuff we brought, including lots. Old Town was nearby, and we went there twice. The continental breakfast and coffee were good.

The room was dirty, with dead bugs all over, and the bathroom window had no covering. It smelled, looked very outdated, and was run down, like it came straight from the 1950s. The owner, or whoever runs the place, was extremely rude. She hung up on me three times before finally booking a room. Never again, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The Google search photo is misleading. This is a dilapidated two-story building, not the bright, cheerful one-story place shown there. My wife and I stayed one night about four years ago, and the experience matched what other reviewers described. There were bugs and dirty bedding, plus a big open hole in the shower wall. We asked to switch rooms, but the owner rudely refused. It felt like a trap, like the YouTube video “Carnivorous Plants Lure Insects Into Their Clutches.” A nice picture and a bunch of fake reviews lure unsuspecting visitors in. Look at the five-star reviews and wonder why they don’t describe anything. I think that’s because they came from the owners’ friends or relatives. Stay away.

The office was closed after check-in, so we couldn’t complain, and we had to pay up front. We were given just one towel, the toilet needed plunging after every use, and we had to park beside a dumpster. We’d booked a king bed but got a worn-out double instead. The staff spoke very limited English, and the decor had a 1970s look. Worst overnight stay ever.
