There are plenty of places to eat nearby, including a Texas Roadhouse right across the street, and Walmart is down in the shopping center. This is the last area north off the interstate with so much around. The hotel was clean, and the beds were extremely soft, just right if you like Goldilocks soft. Tall guests should know the toilets sit very low. The TV picture was good, but the channel selection was dull, with no weather channel except one I noticed on the breakfast room TV. Breakfast was neat and clean, but not as good as at other Holiday Inn Express locations we've used. The turkey sausage was dark and dry, and the western omelet was watery in the middle. It was okay, but could have been better.

Having a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room made things a lot easier. The bedding and bathroom were especially comfortable, and we found the complimentary breakfast filling, with a good range of nutritious choices. We had an excellent stay.

We came for the holidays with my husband and our three little kids, and the hotel was clean with fantastic service. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was strong. I especially liked being able to run the fan in the room to cover up outside noise. Thanks for a great experience!

The one big drawback for me was the shower. The water pressure was weak, and it never really got hot enough. Otherwise, the rooms were pretty nice and clean, with great soap and lotions, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to lots of stores and restaurants, as well as JMU.

The breakfast was the letdown. We've stayed in simpler hotels with breakfasts that were just as good or better, and three mornings in a row there was no coffee during the busy breakfast hours. If that had happened once I wouldn't have minded, but repeating it really spoiled the impression. Breakfast was one reason we picked the hotel, hoping to eat before exploring the state's beautiful sights. The quality, variety, and availability could all be improved, so I have to take off a star. The room itself was clean and well kept: towels were changed regularly, bins emptied consistently, and the room service was satisfactory. I've attached photos for reference.
