The room was $55, which seemed almost too good to be true for Helena, and unfortunately it was. In the parking lot, I saw vehicles with missing plates, broken windows, and flat tires. Inside, the smell was awful, like a mix of pets, chemicals, food, and human filth. The carpet was stained too. I thought about putting up with it because I knew a refund might be hard to get, but I couldn’t make myself or my son spend the night breathing those fumes. We left and asked for our money back. No one responded to the request. We didn’t stay, and I can’t imagine that place staying open much longer. Horrible.

The noise was relentless: people yelling at each other, someone upstairs apparently practicing clogging or river dancing, and one night people were screaming outside at 3 a.m. and stomping up and down the stairs. The TV didn’t work for days. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told maybe tomorrow, then they hung up. Inside the room, there were floor stains, stale smoke, what looked like mold in the bathroom, and duct tape covering wall damage. The window wouldn’t close all the way, and the blankets had burn marks. I tried a plug-in air freshener on its highest setting, but it couldn’t cover the smell. It’s a budget motel, but I still felt I overpaid. The whole experience left me disappointed and regretting walking in. Maybe I should’ve stayed at The Bates motel.

Booked through Priceline during a snowstorm, but the room looked nothing like the photo. There was blood and boogers everywhere, including what looked like blood on the bed. I asked the front desk for a clean room, and the guy said all their rooms were the same. When I asked if he meant they were all covered in blood and boogers with filthy floors and beds, he said it was a budget hotel and asked what I expected. I said sanitary conditions. I wanted a refund, but he shrugged it off. I contacted Priceline and am still waiting. I submitted everything, including photos. This place should be condemned, cleaned, and turned into a homeless shelter.

I’m leaving early and getting no refund because I can’t tough this out. The room is filthy, and the TV hasn’t worked during the month-long “cable outage.” The shower and ice bucket were dirty, and the sheets had the last guest’s hair on them. I’m blonde, but there was long dark hair all over the bathroom. The wind pushed the door open even with the lock engaged, and cold air came through the gap in the frame. The fridge froze my leftovers, and the dirty microwave was broken, so I couldn’t heat them up. This is the most disgusting place I’ve stayed. Save yourself.

The box spring was so disgusting that I wanted to check the mattress, but my wife stopped me. We felt like something was biting us in bed, though we didn’t find bedbugs. We wouldn’t walk barefoot because we were afraid of what might be on the floor. The bathroom fixtures and plug-ins were loose, and the room should be condemned. If the others are like ours, the whole place should be shut down. The owner and manager shouldn’t be allowed to run a business like this.
